We are currently recruiting participants for a research study exploring new ways of communicating with loved ones with technology.
This study looks at how a time-delayed video messaging system may shape how people stay connected, share experiences, and maintain relationships over time.
We are looking for young adults who are interested in staying connected with a close loved one (such as a parent, sibling, partner, or close friend) to participate together in this study.
If you are selected as a primary participant, a small screen-based device will be installed in your home to support the video exchange. Your loved one will be able to send videos from their phone.
Who can participate:
- Young adults (e.g., 18–30)
- Recently (within the last 2 years) left home
- Living apart from at least one loved one they regularly communicate with
- Willing to participate over an extended period (at least six weeks)
No prior technical experience is required.
Participation is voluntary, and all data will be kept confidential. In the case of withdraw, each member of participant pairs may make an independent decision to withdraw and that one person's withdrawal will not be communicated to the other except as needed to administer the study.
